Hydrogen Valleys are used for hydrogen processing, starting from its production to the ultimate consumption. The call for proposals was launched by <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/european-union.europa.eu\/institutions-law-budget\/institutions-and-bodies\/search-all-eu-institutions-and-bodies\/clean-hydrogen-joint-undertaking_sk\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Clean Hydrogen Joint Undertaking<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> under the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.consilium.europa.eu\/sk\/policies\/horizon-europe\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Horizon Europe<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> framework. To this day, it is the <\/span><b>biggest success of Slovak scientists<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> who have applied for a grant from the Clean hydrogen Joint Undertaking. The project is called <\/span><b>EastGate H2V<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and is set to begin in <\/span><b>April 2025<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span>\r\n<h4><b>Phase 1 of the project<\/b><\/h4>\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">By mid-2027, a <\/span><b>2 MW electrolyzer<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> is set to be launched in Ko\u0161ice, producing <\/span><b>170 tons<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> of green hydrogen annually. This output is expected to cover the yearly consumption of <\/span><b>10 hydrogen buses<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> in the region and one <\/span><b>hydrogen-powered transport drone<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, accompanied by hydrogen refueling stations.\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span>\r\n<h4><b>Phase 2 of the project<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The second phase involves building another 2 MW electrolyzer and increasing annual hydrogen production to over <\/span><b>500 tons<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. The plan includes expanding the regional fleet of hydrogen buses, introducing a hydrogen-powered waste collection vehicle, and deploying three additional transport drones. Feasibility studies will be done throughout the project in order to re-built already existing natural gas pipelines for hydrogen transport, supporting the transition to a hydrogen-based energy system.\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The project aims to create a sustainable ecosystem that encompasses hydrogen production, distribution, and diversified end-use applications. EastGate H2V integrates hydrogen solutions across all modes of transport.
