  1. Topic A \u2013 <\/span>The (usual) Twinning Bottom \u2013 Up<\/b><\/a>,\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
  2. Topic B \u2013 <\/span>The Twinning Green Deal<\/b><\/a><\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n \r\n\r\nThe call for proposals, which closed on 28 September 2023, attracted significant interest, with 848 applications. <\/span>20<\/b> of these initiatives were selected under the <\/span>Green Deal Call<\/b> and <\/span>76<\/b> initiatives under the <\/span>Bottom-Up call<\/b>. Numerous subjects, such as the energy transition, digital cultural heritage, the marine sector, and rare diseases, will be covered by the funded projects.<\/span>\r\n\r\nSlovakia is among the participating countries in 3 funded projects with 1 project under The Twinning Green Deal and the other 2 projects under The Twinning Bottom-UP.\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\nSlovak University of Technology in Bratislava<\/b> is a coordinating beneficiary in the <\/span>FreeTwinEV<\/span><\/a> (Fostering Research ExcellencE of STU in Digital Twinning for Sustainable and Safe Electric Vehicles) project <\/span>under the Green Deal Topic<\/b>. The project focuses on <\/span>e-batteries<\/b> and enhances research at the Slovak University of Technology by pioneering digital twinning for advanced battery management systems, improving battery performance in electric vehicles.<\/span>\r\n\r\nUnder the Twinning Bottom-Up Topic, <\/span>Slovakia<\/b> is involved in <\/span>two projects<\/b>: <\/span>FORGENOM II<\/span><\/a> and <\/span>WIDEX<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\nProject<\/span> FORGENOM II<\/b><\/a> (Fostering Excellence in Advanced Genomics and Proteomics Research at Comenius University in Bratislava) where the coordinating beneficiary is the <\/span>Comenius University in Bratislava<\/b>, focuses on <\/span>genomics<\/b>. The aim is to enhance research excellence at Comenius University Science Park in biomedical genomics, proteomics, and bioinformatics through targeted networking with leading international institutions.<\/span>\r\n\r\nProject<\/span> WIDEX<\/b><\/a> (Knowledge Transfer for Widened EU Excellence in Advanced Green Technologies, Sustainability and Research Management where the coordinating beneficiary is the <\/span>Technical University of Kosice<\/b> (TUKE), focuses on <\/span>raw material mining<\/b>. The initiative intends to improve sustainability, fortify TUKE's capabilities, and increase geological exploration and mining in Slovakia.<\/span>\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nThe next Widening Participation funding opportunity for <\/span>Teaming for Excellence<\/span><\/a> will open on 3 December 2024<\/b>.\u00a0<\/span>\r\n
