What is the aim of the IGLO network?
The network aims to facilitate and strengthen interaction, information exchange and cooperation between IGLO members, their national research and innovation systems and EU institutions on issues related to research, development and innovation in the EU, in particular in the context of the EU Framework Programmes for Research and Innovation.
Who are the members of the IGLO network?
The network currently consists of 28 members representing 26 countries. IGLO offices vary in their set-up and mission, but all pursue similar objectives. We support our researchers and innovators in obtaining EU funding, strengthening their engagement in Brussels and connecting them to each other.
Where do we join forces?
Our regular activities include:
- Cooperation within the 9 IGLO Working Groups
- a monthly seminar open to the entire research and innovation community based in Brussels – IGLO Open
- Monthly meetings of the Heads of Office Group – IGLO Core
- Monthly meetings of the IGLO Secretariat
- training for new employees and trainees in our offices – IGLO Training for Newcomers
- annual event
- workshops on topical issues – IGLO in Action
For what purpose?
- working together to monitor EU policy developments in research, innovation and education more effectively
- by providing information and contacts, we support the involvement of our communities in international scientific cooperation
- by actively working with the European Commission and other EU institutions, we contribute to shaping future EU research and innovation policies
- supporting the achievement of EU research and innovation goals by disseminating information in our communities in a timely manner
- through joint activities, we raise the profile of our research and innovation communities in the international environment
