The European Research Executive Agency (REA) has announced funding for 11 new projects, which will collectively receive €23.5 million to support a competitive, efficient, and inclusive European Research Area (ERA). These projects were selected under the call for proposals issued in December 2023, with a total of 93 proposals submitted. The selected projects will focus on various priorities, including the development of professional skills, fostering inclusivity in research and innovation, the ethical use of technologies, and the efficient sharing of knowledge.
The aim of the projects is to enhance international cooperation in knowledge transfer, open access, and to equip researchers with skills that will enable them to develop careers not only in academia but also in industry and entrepreneurship. Additionally, the projects will address gender equality and inclusivity in research and innovation organizations and will establish a joint funding mechanism to support projects involving Ukraine, thereby strengthening its research and innovation capacities.
Among the 11 selected projects, Slovak company Medirex, a.s., is participating in the INCLUDE project, which focuses on promoting institutional changes towards gender equality and inclusivity through innovative measures and collaboration among countries from various parts of Europe.
The projects’ activities will commence on January 1, 2025.
