General information and methodology
Innovate Slovakia 13.4.2023 launched the first-ever database on the Slovak innovation ecosystem. Currently, 373 start-ups and 252 investment rounds can be found here. The database provides valuable insights for policy makers, investors and other stakeholders to support innovative entrepreneurship and economic growth in Slovakia. The launch of the database is also an excellent opportunity to showcase the inspiring ideas being produced in Slovakia and attract more investment in innovation.
The platform is the result of the efforts of the Innovate Slovakia initiative, operated by SAPIE (Slovak Alliance for Innovative Economy), CIVITTA and Innovation League, to collect, store and provide up-to-date information on the Slovak innovation ecosystem.
Dealroom, a privately-run company based in Amsterdam which is a global provider of data and intelligence on startups and technology ecosystems, created and operates the platform. It is also recognized through its partnerships with more than 60 local governments, ministries, EDOs and trade and investment organizations in Europe, North America, Asia and Australia.
The database and software aggregate data from multiple sources, including public information, company websites, and user-submitted data. The data is verified and processed through a manual process.
Benefits of using the database
The information and data in the database can make a significant contribution to evidence-based decision making and the growth of the startup ecosystem for the benefit of all stakeholders. With the platform, we can track the performance and evolution of the ecosystem in near real-time. The database contains comprehensive and up-to-date data on all activities in the ecosystem, including startups, investments, growth and more. It allows ecosystem players to easily assess current trends, strengths and weaknesses, and to develop stronger initiatives and offerings to strengthen the ecosystem.
In addition, Slovak stakeholders can gain access to partnerships and increase their international recognition with a profile in Dealroom, a renowned European startup database, and become part of a global virtual community of startups, investors, media and corporations.
