The Summer University for Slovak Language and Culture is organised by The Institute for Language and Preparatory Studies for Foreigners and Compatriots (ILPS) of the Centre for Continuing Education of Comenius University in Bratislava.
The event will take place on-site in Bratislava at Žižkova 10 street from 10 to 28 July 2023 and is intended for applicants living abroad who are interested in learning the Slovak language, history, and culture.
Motto: The modern story of Slovakia on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Slovak Republic.
Throughout the event, you will:
- acquire and improve communication language skills in Slovak in a natural language environment,
- familiarize with contemporary modern Slovakia and at the same time with recent history since the establishment of the Slovak Republic (presentation of Slovak realities through art, culture, linking the history of the past 30 years and the present),
- develop of a positive attitude towards the Slovak language in a cultural and historical context,
- connect language, literature, history, culture, and social events,
- get to know important personalities from the field of linguistics, literature, and history,
- get to know the diversity of Slovakia during tours of the historical monuments of the capital Bratislava and the surrounding area,
- visit educational events within the Cultural Summer 2023 in Bratislava.
Conditions of acceptance:
- submitting of online application form,
- age: more than 17 years,
- acceptance from the side of the Slovak compatriot´s company,
- filling of questionnaire in Slovak language with information about your motivation in this event.
Course is fully financed by scholarship of the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic (tuition, accommodation, full board).
